Package Sewage Treatment Plants
There is a Worldwide recognition that decentralized wastewater treatment is a better and more efficient alternative to a centralized wastewater treatment system when considered from the angle of investment and energy consumption. There are many areas within cities, towns, and villages that are impossible to cover through centralized treatment systems which take care of proper treatment and disposal of sewage.
In line with our innovative approach, we now bring to you Packaged Sewage Treatment Plants in Sri Lanka that are compact and can be used in a decentralized manner anywhere for wastewater treatment, delivering the best solution we have implemented so far. The technology used by us is an advanced version of MBBR.
Sintex Packaged Sewage Treatment Plants are based on anaerobic and aerobic processes and are designed to have dual functions for the efficient treatment of domestic wastewater from toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, and washing areas.

The material used for making the PSTP is fiber-reinforced plastic and roto-molded plastic which will never get rusted |
|
Durable |
As these PSTPs are rust-proof and leakproof hence they have a lifespan exceeding 50 years |
|
Easy to Install |
As these PSTPs are compact and light in weight making them easy to install |
|
Cost-Effective |
Sintex STP operations and maintenance costs are much lower compared to conventional STP as they do not need specialized and skilled manpower |
|
Energy-Efficient |
Energy consumption of Sintex STPs is at least 50% less than conventional STPs |
|
Easy to Maintain |
Sintex STPs need sludge handling once in 12-18 months compared to conventional STPs which require the same every 10-15 days |
Operation Principle
Solid Separation Zone (Anaerobic Zone)-The first stage transforms the influent solids into settled solids while allowing scum to float on the surface. It is a primary sedimentation zone in which settled sludge is stabilized by anaerobic digestion. The treatment efficiency of the chamber is in the range of 30% BOD removal.
Aeration Zone (Aerobic Zone -The second stage is in the aerobic zone along with plastic media inside the tank which in turn increases the surface area and retains micro-organisms long enough to digest the organic substances. Clearwater overflows to the next treatment chamber. Air is provided through blowers and higher contact time with the Biofilm on the plastic media facilities for efficient digestion. BOD removal is around 60%.
Final Sedimentation Zone-The final stage involves sedimentation where organic waste is settled in the sedimentation zone. The settled waste in the bottom is pumped back into the solid separation zone as a return sludge having active biomass (MLSS) to increase the efficiency of the system. The output from this zone is the effluent that meets the stipulated pollution control Standards.
Optional -For more Stringent effluent parameters, we also offer a Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) addition to the system which does the job of filtration that further improves effluents

SINTEX STBF SERIES-PACKAGED SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
The primary focus of Sintex TBF Series-Packaged Sewage Treatment Plant to protect the health of your family, the community and environment. This system is designed to hold, treat and use/ disposed domestic waste/ wastewater, while preventing drinking water contamination at the source; which makes good sense when it comes to public health, the economy and the environment. One of the most important reasons why your role in this is necessary is maintenance costs and property value. This is because failed septic systems are expensive to repair or replace and can also cause property values to decline. For these reasons, it’s quite important for you to take the right step toward wastewater treatment of your household. The STBF Series-Packaged Sewage Treatment Sri Lanka Plant series is manufactured in collaboration with M/S Aqua Nishihara Corporation, Japan – a world leader in wastewater treatment system.
HOW THE STBF SERIES-PACKAGED SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT WORKS
Wastewater from toilet, sink, shower, washing machine and other drain flows through the household sewer drain pipe reaches into a septic tank. The septic tank provides a number of important functions through a complex interaction of physical and biological processes. The septic tank receives sewage from the house, separates solid waste from liquid waste, stores separated solid waste and passes the liquid waste out of the tank for final treatment and use/ disposal. The main function of the septic tank is to remove solid waste from liquid waste. The process relies on gravity and time to naturally separate the wastewater into three layers:
SCUM
Substances lighter than water (oil, grease, fats) float to the top, forming a layer on top of the water.
SLUDGE
Substances heavier than water (soil, unconsumed food particles) settle to the bottom of the tank and form a sludge layer.
EFFLUENT
This is the wastewater left between the scum and sludge layers. The effluent flows through the tank outlet to the soak - pit/ drain - field where natural treatment occurs.
STBF SERIES-PACKAGED SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT FEATURES
Compact System designed in a Single FRP/LLDPE shell divided into compartments which convert Sewage to re- usable water

ADVANTAGES OF SINTEX STBF SERIES-PACKAGED SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
Sintex STBF series-packaged sewage treatment plant comes with far more long-term benefits than any other tank material. Being an effective alternative, these tanks are made from a combination of polyethylene (LLDPE). This offers a robust solution and provides various benefits. Also, the total treatment rate for Sintex STBF series-packaged sewage treatment plant is approximately 95%, where the water can be used either for irrigation/ farming purpose or can be disposed of into the drainage line or soak pit.
