Media Filters

MULTIMEDIA FILTER COMPLETE WITH MEDIA

Sand filters clarify water by removing sediment, turbidity, iron, unpleasant tastes and odors, suspended particles, and unwanted color, all of which are commonly found in surface water. Sand is the most common filter media. Generally, fine mesh sand is coupled with a course grain support bed.

Anthracite is used in applications where silica pick-up from sand media is undesirable. Gravel has a highly spherical shape that promotes good flow and even distribution in support beds. Filter AG is non-hydrous silicon dioxide with many advantages for the reduction of suspended matter.

ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER COMPLETE WITH MEDIA

ACF system can be a used as direct water filtration to deal with offensive odor, taste and excessive chlorine from the supply for potable water applications or it can be used as a pre-treatment for equipment or process that needs lower levels of the mentioned water contaminants such as Reverse Osmosis systems.

This system are normally used in Industrial plants, Municipal treatment facilities or Commercial establishments who needs better quality of water coming from the city supply. They can also be used into the waste water treatment and handle high Total Organic Compounds (TOC) from the water being treated.

SOFTENER FILTER

Water Softener is designed specifically to remove high levels of dissolved solids that create “hard water” conditions, principally Calcium and Magnesium.Water softeners treat the water by removing hardness using resin. The resin replaces the hardness in the water with salt, which is regenerated periodically.

The softened water can then pass through an RO system to remove the salt without the risk of scaling. Softeners can be used in a variety of services including: industrial, municipal, and institutional applications.

BIRM FILTER

Birm is an effi cient and economical media for the reduction of dissolved iron and manganese compounds from raw water supplies. It may be used in either gravity fed or pressurized water treatment systems. Birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen (D.O.) and the iron com pounds. In ground waters the dissolved iron is usually in the ferrous bicarbonate state due to the excess of free carbon dioxide and is not fi lterable.

Birm acting as a catalyst between the oxygen and the soluble iron com pounds, enhances the oxidation reaction of Fe++ to Fe+++and produces ferric hydroxide which precipitates and may be easily fi ltered. The physical characteristics of Birm provide an excellent fi lter media which is easily cleaned by backwashing to remove the precipitant.

Birmis not con sumed in the iron removal operation and therefore offers a tremendous economic advantage over many other iron removal methods.Other advantages of Birminclude; long material life with relatively low attrition loss, a wide temperature performance range and extremely high removal ef fi cien cy.

Negligible labor costs are involved because Birm does not require chemicals for regeneration, only periodic backwashing is required.

CALCITE FILTER

Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. One of the advantages of Calcite is its self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium. It does not overcorrect under normal conditions. Upon contact with Calcite, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. Periodic backwashing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates.
